For field accuracy competitors, small game hunters or backyard plinkers, the Model 99'' performance is truly amazing. Because it's capable of achieving muzzle velocities of 1100 fps and muzzle energy of 18.5 FP, it packs a real punch, even at long range. The accuracy surpasses many of the popular European air rifles (C-T-C 0.13) that sell for two to three times the price. The Tech Force 99 features a spring piston power plant with a custom piston spring. The fixed barrel design has an underlever cocking mechanism with an anti-beartrap lock and automatic safety. The Tech Force 99 has an insert type front sight, which is removable, when the rifle is used with a scope. The TF99 comes standard with scope grooves, scope stop, front and rear sights, rifled barrel, and a nicely finished hardwood stock. Length 44.5", weight 8 lbs. Shoots at 1100 fps in a .177 caliber and 900 fps in a .22 caliber.

Where's the quality control? July 25, 2006

Hoping for the best I ordered a tech 99. The overall quality was very disappointing. The stock was big and bulky, there were several deep dents and a black paint strip smear. The sights are plastic as well as the trigger guard. The scope stop is a piece of light metal with one small screw. After reading about a guy who lost his thumb when something went wrong as he was loading it gave me the gitters! I'm new to this airgun thing, but I know what quality is and this ain't it. I haven't put enough ammo through it yet to tell if it will group or not, but I can sure tell you this...it's crude. I bought another air rifle(remington summit 1000) for less money and it's like comparing a porche to a vw! Everything from finish to scope and it's grouping 1" at 30 yds! If you have any pride of ownership I highly recommend passing on the "99". Even the scope seemed cheaper and more difficult to use than the summit, the scope mounts seemed to be hanging on by there fingernails.
