Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
A quality 3-12x44 Adjustable Objective Tech Force Scope Included. Now comes in a beautiful Hardwood stock with checkering! This unique air gun has the power and accuracy to compete with serious, world class air guns, yet its modest price makes it a perfect choice for virtually all shooters. For field accuracy competitors, small game hunters or backyard plinkers, the Model 99'' performance is truly amazing. Because it's capable of achieving muzzle velocities of 1100 fps and muzzle energy of 18.5 FP, it packs a real punch, even at long range. The accuracy surpasses many of the popular European air rifles (C-T-C 0.13) that sell for two to three times the price. The Tech Force 99 features a spring piston power plant with a piston spring by Jim MacCari, considered the best spring maker in the U.S. The fixed barrel design has an underlever cocking mechanism with an anti-beartrap lock and automatic safety. The Tech Force 99 has an insert type front sight, which is removable, when the rifle is used with a scope. The TF99 comes standard with scope grooves, scope stop, front and rear sights, rifled barrel, and a nicely finished hardwood stock. Length 44.5", weight 8 lbs. Shoots at 1100 fps in a .177 caliber and 900 fps in a .22 caliber.

3 out of 5 stars High Maintainence but Worth It   June 26, 2008

Tom Gaylord wrote a detailed report on the TF-99 at http://www.compasseco.com/article_tf99.htm

For the most part, it's quite an accurate assessment, BUT here are some points he did not mention:
1.Despite normal, reasonable maintenance, the metal exterior is especially prone to rust.
2.You get this goddaweful "Klackk" cocking the rifle. It's sufficiently loud to spook some likely targets in the field.
3.With all the built in safety features, there is no way to quietly (and safely) de-cock the under-barrel action (unlike the break-barrel designs). Once the rifle is loaded, it has to be fired to be stored safely.
4.It is quite heavy even for someone 6 ft 3" and 260 lbs (i.e. me). But on the plus side, it is very well balanced, points easily, easy to shoot, almost no felt spring recoil. The stock is all wood, nicely stained, checkered, and the darn thing has the look and feel of a true African Big Game Hunting Rifle! And fairly consistent accuracy!
5.The Tech Force 3-12x44 Air Rifle Scope is truly a decent piece of optics. The looks, clarity, focus, light gathering capacity is remarkable for a budget priced Scope. But I've always disliked messing around guessing distance with those adjustable objective scopes. It takes the fun out of shooting.

China has come a long way with improved quality airguns; and it certainly shows! For the money, you just can't beat this deal. I am happy with my purchase.

2 out of 5 stars NOT IMPRESSED !   August 14, 2008
[[ASIN:B000BWE6A2 Tech Force Airguns - 99 Magnum Pellet Rifle .22 cal, 900 FPS w/2-7x32 Scope!
I figured I'd give this rifle a chance. I also own a RWS 460 that's been tuned by CTC so I have an idea about underlevers. I needed something as a kick around for the {dirty duty} pest control etc. My Crosman/Mendoza 577 died and I thought this would be the perfect choice. Looks good, feels good but it won't shoot. I cleaned the bore, loctited the screws, oiled it down and gave it the business. It liked Crosman Premiers the best, but after 10 shots at a target you couldn't tell if I used a pellet gun or blasted the target with buck shot. It may settle down after a while, but you know what is said about first impressions. Airgun Depot also has a complicated return policy BTW. Live and sometimes learn.
